Celesto CI / Compare

Celesto vs Ubicloud

Celesto costs 47% less per Linux runtime minute than Ubicloud's published standard x64 rate at matching CPU and RAM. Ubicloud adds monthly credit, ARM support, bigger runners, and an optional premium CPU fleet.

Runner size
List runtime costs before allowances, credits, plan fees, or add-ons, assuming equal runtime. The chart uses Ubicloud's lower published standard x64 rates, not its default premium fleet. Premium costs $0.002/min at 2 vCPU, $0.004 at 4, and $0.008 at 8. Ubicloud applies a $2.50 monthly credit; Celesto has a one-time $5 trial. Ubicloud's April 2026 announcement says standard x64 is unavailable to new customers, while its pricing docs describe a standard-fleet setting: confirm account eligibility. Credits, premium fallback, job duration, and preparation and cleanup runtime change actual bills. Equal CPU and RAM allocations do not establish equal machine performance. These are not predicted bills or measured job performance. Sources and checked date.

Choose low runtime costs for the Linux jobs you run every day.

Choose Celesto if

  • You want 47% lower list runtime rates than Ubicloud standard at matched CPU and RAM
  • You want smaller 1-vCPU options for light Linux jobs
  • Your workloads fit within 8 vCPU and 32 GB
  • You want to evaluate CPU-heavy jobs against your own reproducible workflow before committing

Stay on Ubicloud if

  • Your monthly usage fits within Ubicloud's recurring $2.50 credit
  • You need native ARM or runners above 8 vCPU
  • Premium Ryzen CPUs or larger local disks materially shorten your jobs
  • You need Ubuntu 22.04 or 26.04 runner images

Switch in one line.

Install the GitHub App, then swap the runner label. Keep compatible workflow steps and cache configuration; logs stay in GitHub Actions. Celesto stores caches separately, so expect an initial cache miss.

Questions.

Linux x64 jobs include actions/cache and setup-node/setup-python caching without changes to compatible cache steps. Cache storage has no separate charge. Default per-repository limits are 5 GiB on trial and promotional credit and 25 GiB on paid credit; caches expire after 7 idle days. CI runtime consumes workspace credit.

Docker Engine, Buildx, and Compose are preinstalled. Docker builds, Compose workflows, and GitHub service containers are verified. Validate Docker actions and whole-job containers before migrating. Docker’s explicit --cpus flag failed the documented preflight.

No. Each job starts fresh. Use registry caches or portable archives through actions/cache to reuse layers. Direct BuildKit type=gha,version=2 cache export failed the documented preflight.

At 2 vCPU and 8 GB, Celesto costs $0.000667/min versus Ubicloud's published standard x64 rate of $0.00125/min, about 47% less before credit. Ubicloud's default premium fleet costs $0.002/min at that size. Ubicloud includes $2.50 monthly credit, so small bills can favor Ubicloud. Compare actual duration and credit use, not only list rates.

No. Ubicloud documents AMD EPYC 9454P standard runners and Ryzen 9 7950X3D premium runners. Premium is enabled by default and can fall back to standard capacity, with billing based on the fleet used. Its April 2026 price announcement says standard x64 is unavailable for new customers, while pricing docs describe disabling premium in settings. Confirm availability and rates for your account.

We have not published matched machine or network benchmarks against Ubicloud. Its documentation describes EPYC and Ryzen CPUs, NVMe storage, and high-speed networking. The list-rate advantage shown here does not establish faster completed jobs. Benchmark checkout, dependency restoration, compilation, and artifact transfer on your workload.
