Celesto Sandboxes / Compare

Celesto vs Agent37

Celesto vs Agent37: choose Celesto for KVM sandboxes, CDP browser automation, and managed GitHub Actions runners with built-in dependency caching; Agent37 offers lower compute rates.

Build and test on one platform: give your agent a Linux sandbox with sudo, Docker, and MCP, then run your GitHub Actions jobs on Celesto CI. Existing actions/cache and setup-node or setup-python caching work without changes to your cache steps. Start with $5 in credits, without a card.

GitHub Actions CI
Runners + cache
Managed Linux x64 runners with built-in actions/cache support and cache storage at no extra charge.
Root disk included
20–100 GB
Sized with your Celesto machine. Stopped disks are kept free for 30 days; running processes end.
Browser automation
Direct CDP access
Use computer.browser() on the browser-agent template with Playwright or Puppeteer.

A full Linux VM for the code your agent writes.

Agent37 wins on hourly price. Celesto includes the VM and disk.

Agent37 Cloud: $0.0011/vCPU-hour + $0.00096/GB RAM-hour + $0.00012/GB disk-hour. These rows include 4 GB of disk; Celesto includes 30 GB and 60 GB respectively. Agent37 disk charges continue while stopped. Rates are rounded to three decimals; model and tool usage is excluded. Matching CPU and memory does not imply equal performance or isolation. This compares Cloud, not personal-agent subscriptions.

Choose Celesto when the machine is part of your agent workflow.

Choose Celesto if

  • You want a separate KVM virtual machine and kernel for each sandbox
  • Your browser agent needs a CDP URL and a desktop you can watch or control
  • You want Claude Code or Cursor to create machines and run commands through MCP
  • You want an included root disk and free stopped storage for up to 30 days
  • You also need managed GitHub Actions runners with dependency caching on the same platform

Choose Agent37 if

  • The lowest published running-hour price is your main criterion
  • You want managed model access and app connections alongside hosting

Questions.

Yes. Celesto CI runs Linux x64 GitHub Actions jobs with built-in actions/cache and setup-node/setup-python caching, with no changes to compatible cache steps. Cache storage has no separate charge; default per-repository limits are 5 GiB on trial and promotional credit and 25 GiB on paid credit, with expiry after 7 idle days. Docker Engine, Buildx, and Compose are preinstalled. Docker builds, Compose workflows, and GitHub service containers are verified; validate Docker actions and whole-job containers before migrating. Each job starts fresh: local Docker layers do not persist, but registry caches and portable archives via actions/cache are supported. Direct BuildKit type=gha,version=2 cache export and Docker’s explicit --cpus flag failed the documented preflight. CI runtime consumes workspace credit.

Yes. Celesto CI runs Linux x64 GitHub Actions jobs on managed runners. Change the job’s runs-on label to use Celesto; actions/cache and the cache options in setup-node, setup-python, and similar actions keep working without changes to your cache steps. Celesto serves the cache and includes cache storage at no extra charge. CI runner usage is billed separately from sandbox usage. Docker layers do not persist locally between jobs; use a registry cache or portable archives via actions/cache. Direct BuildKit type=gha,version=2 export failed the documented preflight.

No at the published Cloud running-hour rates shown here. Celesto Standard is $0.030/hour with a 30 GB root disk included. Choose Celesto for its VM environment and developer workflow, and estimate costs using your actual runtime and storage needs.

Celesto gives each sandbox its own KVM VM and kernel, full sudo, Docker support, and a persistent root disk. On browser templates, computer.browser() returns a CDP connection and computer.display() opens a live desktop. The hosted MCP server lets your existing agent create and operate sandboxes.

Running processes end, but files and installed packages survive. Celesto keeps the stopped disk free for 30 days. Start the sandbox again to continue working with those files; this is not a memory snapshot.
