# Celesto for agents

Celesto gives AI agents **hardware-isolated cloud computers** (sandboxes): a real Linux VM with shell, filesystem, and optional browser. Build and run agent harnesses on Celesto; give each agent a machine that boots in under 2 seconds.

## Hosted MCP

Remote MCP (streamable HTTP) for cloud computers:

**URL:** `https://mcp.celesto.ai/mcp`

**Auth:** OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration (DCR) and PKCE. Clients discover the authorization server from protected-resource metadata. Sign in with a Celesto account; scopes include `computers:read`, `computers:exec`, and `computers:admin`.

**When to use it:** An agent needs a durable sandbox to run commands, install tools, expose an HTTP port, or keep files across sessions — without running code on the user’s laptop.

**When not to use it:** Pure chat with no machine; or you only need Celesto’s REST API (`https://api.celesto.ai`) from your own backend.

### Tools (`cloud_computer_*`)

| Tool | Purpose |
|------|---------|
| `cloud_computer_create` | Create a computer. Use a unique `idempotency_key` per machine; reuse it on retries. Ask the user for `size_id` first. Optional `template_id` (`scratch` or `coding-agent`). |
| `cloud_computer_list` | List computers for the signed-in account. |
| `cloud_computer_info` | Inspect state and resources. |
| `cloud_computer_exec` | Run a shell command; returns stdout/stderr and exit code. |
| `cloud_computer_start` | Resume a stopped computer. |
| `cloud_computer_stop` | Stop while keeping disks. |
| `cloud_computer_delete` | Permanently delete the computer and its files. |
| `cloud_computer_port_publish` | Publish an HTTP port; returns a public URL. |
| `cloud_computer_port_list` | List published ports. |
| `cloud_computer_port_unpublish` | Remove a published port. |

### Suggested flow

1. `cloud_computer_create` with a new `idempotency_key` (and user-chosen `size_id`).
2. `cloud_computer_info` / `cloud_computer_list` until status is running.
3. `cloud_computer_exec` for work.
4. Port publish/list/unpublish as needed.
5. `cloud_computer_stop` or `cloud_computer_delete` when finished.

There is no `get_operation` tool — wait on info/list or the tool response.

### Client config example

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "celesto": {
      "url": "https://mcp.celesto.ai/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

Complete the OAuth browser login when the client prompts.
